Mission Statement
SAMMAY Productions (SP) facilitates intercultural artistic convergences centering embodied practice, holistic wellness, and movement-based performance. Rooted in ancestral wisdom and radical futurity, SP seeks to curate creative-led spaces of cultural resilience, critical inquiry, and intergenerational healing. Led by Filipinx American choreographer, ritualist, and activist SAMMAY Peñaflor Dizon, SP is committed to decolonizing, re-indigenizing, and embodying liberatory values - calling in a paradigm shift in service to the earth’s vitality and our collective responsibility to future generations.
Through BIPOC-centered workshops, presentations, and dialogue - SP provides accessible opportunities for the community to engage with creativity and critical inquiry rooted in ancestral wisdom and radical imagination. From 2015-2021, SP produced Urban x Indigenous - an intercultural arts festival that celebrated artivists, healers, and culture keepers at the intersections of re-indigenization, cultural healing, and wellness in the Bay Area and beyond. SAMMAY Productions centers indigenous practices and contemporary rituals for the healing of humanity & the preservation of Earth.
